Sheinside Blog review

Yay!! My items from SHEINSIDE came !

So as a slight introduction, sheinside is a Chinese wholesale online retailer. A wholesale store is very similar to an outlet store in which the inventory is not created by them but rather supplied by places that either manufacture in the same location or have a overabundance of items they cannot sell so thus they give away for a much lower price for the store to resale. This is why you can often find name brand clothing very cheaply in places such as Ross, Marshall’s, TJ Maxx, etcetc. This is because they ARE the same items but the original store either has too much stock or the season where the item was supposed to be in has passed and thus they have to get rid of the rest while still making a profit. The difference between an outlet store and a wholesaler, which sheinside is, is that outlet stores get inventory after retailers and a wholesaler gets it before the retailer. I can’t be entirely positive but if I were to make a guess, I believe this is why sheinside gets updates daily and likewise runs out of inventory quickly and does not restock often. This would also explain why one could find unlicensed clothing items other stores (Such as Boy London or Disney) are known for. This is because the manufacturer in China, who gives to the big name (or small name) retailer, also gives the clothing item to sheinside. To define it better, an answer taken from yahoo answers:
"A wholesaler is the middle man who purchase the products in huge amounts at great discounts and then distribute among the retailers at good prices..lots of manufacturers supply minimum complete pallet loads, and prefer it to give the distributors only. the cycle goes like this:
Manufacturers-Wholesaler-Retailers and Customers.”
So hopefully this explanation will clear up exactly what sheinside is and how it operates.
Okay so! The two items I bought were:

The sweater is a dead ringer for the image on the website! ^0^  The print came out wonderfully. The material is very soft and comfortable and the material is thicker than a t-shirt would be but thinner than a sweater would be. So I would wear it in the winter where I live for college but layered with a shirt underneath or a full jacket over it. :)

My 2nd sweater I was the most excited for. Like mentioned, it was a sweater I saw in multiple storeenvys but always priced in the $30’s in regards to price excluding shipping. So I was happy when I found the exact same sweater on sheinside for much cheaper with free shipping! :D

The colors are not as pastel as I thought they would be. They are very bright and vibrant like rainbow, which, while not what I was expecting, is still pretty amazing considering they’re printed on black fabric. The print is chipped a little but I honestly expected that considering the print painted on incredibly thick. So while they’re chipped now, how thick the print does not have me worried about the print fading between washes

Like the Barbie sweater, the material is soft and nice, thicker than a normal shirt, but not thick like a sweater would be. Still a very lovely item!

Skechers Blog review !

SkechersThe first thing I noticed was all the different color and style options! There is everything from the most modest of colors to the in-your-face prints and neons. Whatever your workout style is, you're sure to find something you like.

Prices for this line range from $65.00-$75.00. Most of the line fell at $70.00, with only the Serengeti  hitting $75.00. For a good pair of workout shoes, this seems like a very fair price!
After looking over all the different styles, I chose the Flex Apparel " New Rival"  in black and white. This particular pair fell with the majority of the shoes at $70.00. These are available in many colors! I really liked the ombre detailing of the shoe, and they didn't seem bulky like a lot of athletic shoes tend to be.

My first impression:

- Very sleek and stylish
- Super lightweight
- True to size

This pair came with black laces, but Sketchers was kind enough to also include a pair of hot pink laces! I loved that little extra customization option. It was a nice surprise.

I usually wear a 7 or 7.5, depending on the brand. I always struggle with which size to order online. I went with a 7, because I would rather have athletic shoes a little snug than loose. I was very happy with my choice! With socks, the shoes fit perfectly.

During a workout:
- So light, didn't feel like I had shoes on
- Supportive arches
- The memory foam was amazing

On a typical trip to the gym, I will spend anywhere from 20-40 minutes on cardio. The most dreaded part of my workout was a little more enjoyable with these shoes. They were so light, I felt like I didn't have anything on my feet. The memory foam also gave amazing support.

Overall:
- Ideal for all kinds of workouts, or people on the go
- A style for everyone
- Memory foam is an A+ in my book

I definitely recommend these shoes to anyone in search of an affordable, stylish and comfortable pair of athletic shoes. I've heard multiple people rave about these shoes - those who work out, and those who are just on the go! If you've had the opportunity to try these shoes, please comment below and share your thoughts!

What have you been doing to keep up with your fitness resolutions? I just signed up for a semester worth of training classes. I have a feeling these shoes will be my best friend!

Daniel Wellington Classic St Andrews Lady watch review!

Daniel Wellington .I featured watches on my blog a couple of times, mostly big statement ones :) I was lucky to receive this gorgeous Daniel Wellington  Classic St Andrews Lady watch recently and I really love the design. It is made with brown leather and features a rose gold ring, eggshell white clock-face and the overall quality is exceptional! I like to wear it on its own for a classic casual look, or accessorize it with bracelets to make it look more interesting, if I am going for a more edgy look.

I love how luxurious it looks and the attention to detail makes it a gorgeous piece. There is more lovely designs available and you can pick between rose gold or silver detailing. I featured some models below, but make sure to have a look at the DW website to see the full collection.
A Daniel Wellington watch would be a perfect Christmas gift. It comes in a presentation box and as soon as I opened it I fell in love. It is simply beautiful and really makes an impression!

Treating dry and irritated winter skin with the Kiehl’s Ultra Facial Cream

Find the product here Kiehl's !! Those of you who read the blog regularly know that oily skin is one of my biggest beauty woes. You’d think that all that excess oil would make my skin resistant to dryness and irritation in winter, but nope, unfortunately it doesn’t. It’s true that my skin remains oily even when temperatures drop way below zero, but just like so many others I still have to deal with dry patches and flakey skin in winter. So my skin is always oily and shiny no matter what season it is, but in winter it becomes moisture-deprived on top of that as well. Lucky me… It’s been freezing like crazy for a couple of weeks now and I can definitely tell that my skin has been getting drier and redder. Time for action! I didn’t have any super hydrating creams in stock though, with my oily skin type and what not, so I had to look for something new. Enter the Kiehl’s Ultra Facial Cream from this year’s limited-edition Kiehl’s & Haze holiday collection!

After a bit of research I learned that the Ultra Facial Cream is one of Kiehl’s bestselling cold creams and that it’s also one of the brand’s all-time staple products. The cream was first launched in 1970 (that’s when people still lived in caves and hunted mammoths, right?) and the fact that it still sells this well almost 44 years later just proves how much people love it. The Ultra Facial Cream is an intensely moisturizing face cream that promises to maintain the skin’s moisture balance around the clock, even in the most extreme wintry conditions. It contains Antarctine, a glycoprotein derived from glacier ice from the South Pole (how cool is that?!), the desert plant extract Imperata Cylindrica, Squalane, avocado oil and vitamin E. Together these ingredients promise to protect and hydrate the skin.

Yep, that sure looked good on paper! But does the Kiehl’s Ultra Facial Cream actually deliver? The cream is white, odorless and has a very lightweight texture. That last part surprised me a bit to be honest, because I always thought that ultra hydrating creams would be very thick and heavy. But the Ultra Facial Cream isn’t like that at all, and my oily skin obviously appreciates that. The formula is very fast-absorbing as well and doesn’t leave my skin feeling greasy, and that was another unexpected but pleasant surprise. So with the Kiehl’s Ultra Facial Cream I can basically intensely moisturize my oily yet moisture-deprived skin without risking oil overdrive, perfect! After applying the cream my skin immediately feels softer and more supple, and all signs of dryness or irritation instantly disappear.

I was so impressed with the results that I decided to try the cream on the skin between my fingers as well. That part of my hands always gets very dry and cracked in winter, sometimes even to the point of bleeding. And yep, the Kiehl’s Ultra Facial Cream manages to instantly soften and hydrate the skin in that area as well, woohoo! I think we have a winner!

What do you do to treat dry winter skin? Have you tried any Kiehl’s products yet?

American Apparel Easy Jeans and Disco Pants Review!

Late last year I hurdled into the amazing world of American Apparel and ultimately smashed my wallet into a million broken pieces. A few of these purchases included the American Apparel Disco Pant and Easy Jeans. I gravitated towards these pieces because I really wanted to venture into the world of high waisted bottoms. I have seen a great number of people pull off this type of trouser and jean and never thought I could justify it. I am glad I took the leap because I do not know what I would so without them.

The American Apparel Easy Jeans are one of the best pairs of jeans I ever had. I have it in the blue acid wash . After reading countless reviews online I went to the stores and bought a pair one size down from my original size. These jeans fit like a glove and flatter my body shape like a dream. I have quite big shoulders and a good amount of hips so these pants help even everything out. I live wearing these with combat boots and a variety of crop tops or long sweaters tucked in the front.

Something I really like about these jeans are the back pockets. The back pockets lay higher up on the back that flatters everyone’s body. It accentuates what you have in the best ways possible. The zipper on the front is obviously longer on high waisted jeans and buttons with a brass button.
The quality of the American Apparel Easy Jeans are great. I am thinking of getting another pair in my regular size to wear with leggings underneath on colder days. The length is perfect they look so stylish and simple. An A+ in my book.

The American Apparel Disco Pants are another piece I ventured into late last year . I find I wear these pants more than I do anything else. I cannot imagine what I wore before purchasing these babies. These pants are also high waisted and made of a shiny reflective material that can only be described as Sandy from Greece pants. I did not size down in these pants although I wish I had. The full length fits amazingly but I found that there is excess right behind my knees. I will definitely going back to get a size down.
The pockets are also like the Easy Jeans and the top button is black. I find I wear these more because it instantly dresses up a casual outfit. If I am going out a want to look a bit more kickass, this is what I wear. I wear a lot of cropped sweaters, cropped tops or long shirts and sweaters tucked in with these Disco Pants.
American Apparel is very pricy but I find their quality and style is on point. Even though everything is quite expensive, when you get deals and coupons, AA clothing and accessories last for such a long time and are ultimately time less. I would recommend the Easy Jeans and Disco Pants to anyone and everyone who is willing to spend a bit of money on something worthwhile.

New Forever 21 High Waisted Skinny Jeans Review

  • Forever 21!
  • New Forever 21 High Waisted Skinny Jeans Review
Ok, so major corporate retailer Forever 21 just came out with a huge line of high waisted jeans. They come in a variety of styes and washes, and start at a mere $12.80

When we were in the store shopping, we were pretty freaking excited about this new line of Forever 21 denim. We heard really good things about them stepping up their game as far as the quality goes (cause lets be honest . . . ) We loved the fact that they are modernizing vintage styles into their denim designs. We saw lots of 80s inspired acid wash, and 50s inspired capri pedal pushers.

For our test run, we bought a simple pair of black high waisted skinny jeans. When we put them on, the first thing we noticed was how comfortable they were. Forever 21 definitely put some thought into the thickness of their denim and its obvious.

We ran and jumped around to test the flexibility of the fabric of these jeans, and what we found was that they stretch.

This is the exact reason we own Red Rose Vintage. Quality first, always. Our high waisted jeans are built to last. They've been around a while and will be for long. If you want a long lasting, cool quality pair of high waisted jeans, go with original  vintage denim.

DKNY MYNY FRAGRANCE REVIEW

As a brand, DKNY MYNY is all about the Big Apple. So in a way, British popstar Rita Ora is a funny choice for the new fragrance, MYNY.

In another way, of course, she’s perfect: even better known for her modern pin-up looks and street style smarts than her music, Rita signals a new direction for the brand; a little edgier, a little more contemporary, a little more…cool. It’s been more than 10 years since Be Delicious first launched, so Ora is a good choice to appeal to a new, younger market.

The ad – shot in the Big Apple, natch – is gorgeous; the bottle equally so. The clear, heart-shaped bottle is capped with a silver NYC skyline.

And the fragrance itself? A sweet, fruity floral, with a touch of spice and musk: vanilla, pink pepper, raspberry, jasmine and patchouli are all part of the mix. It’s quite a sparkling, playful scent, but the patchouli heart and musky drydown lend some complexity and depth.  I like it best when it’s been warmed on the skin for a while, and the spice notes are fully revealed.

MYNY is out now, priced at €49 for 30ml, €60 for 50ml and €83 for 100ml.  Check out the website for more but be warned: you could lose hours. You can take a quiz, request a sample, review the scent and, if you’ve visited New York, connect it to your Facebook to create a heart-shaped collage of your own Big Apple snaps.

Have you given this a sniff?

Topshop Make up | Lipsticks

TOPSHOP.  As most of you may be aware, Topshop released their own makeup range in 2010. Although it didn't really interest me at the time, over the past year I have grown quite the collection. There may not be a vast array to choose from, but what they do have, is of excellent value for money, and spot on in my book. I grew very bored of high street makeup, and Topshop came along just at the right time, and injected a bit of excitement back into my makeup bag, without me having to break open the piggy bank.

I'm going to do a series of blog posts on the different items that I own from the Topshop Makeup range, but first up, is my absolute favourite, the lipsticks.

There is not one thing I can fault with Topshop lipsticks, they tick every box in my opinion. Cute yet sturdy packaging made of metal, rounded with flat top and bottom, making it easy to store standing upright. They have names. Yes, slightly strange that this is even taken into consideration when reviewing a lipstick, but don't you hate lipsticks with numbers instead of names, they almost lack in personality...poor numbered lipsticks. Not to mention how difficult it would be to remember when out looting them. They have great pigmentation (nothing worse than no colour pay off) They aren't drying, and don't leave your lips chapped beyond repair, but also have great staying power. They're only £8-£9 & although this may seem pricey for a high street lipstick, there are plenty in Boots or Superdrug in the £7-£8 mark (Revlon for example) so it's all relative. I also think the quality is comparable to Mac's, so at £8, it's a great replacement.

Check out the Topshop lipsticks. They are my new obsession & they are slowly breeding in my lipstick tin.

Dior Sugar and Spice Diorblush Glowing Powder Blush Review, Photos and Swatches!

J'adore DIOR ,  Dior presents the first blush that plays on color intensity and a variety of finishes to create a natural, healthy glow with a subtle sparkle. A matte finish enhances the natural skin tone, while a pearly finish highlights the planes of the face. Silky and lightly scented, this Couture blush comes in a wide range of colors to suit all skin tones.

There are ten blushes to choose from: Vintage Pink, Sugar & Spice, Peechy Keen, Rodebud, English Rose, Pink in Love, Strawberry Sorbet, Sunkissed Cinnamon, Passion Fruit and A Touch of Blush.

From what I understand, each blush has two blushes with two different finishes - One matte and one with shimmer or frost. You can wear them individually or together, but they should work hand in hand with each other.

Dior Sugar and Spice is a velvety matte warm cinnamon and a warm, frosty peachy pink. When mixed together, it creates a sparkling warm peachy cinnamon. I want to say that the matte side is similar to MAC Coppertone or Gingerly Blush, but when I swatched them together, both Gingerly and Coppertone are more orange, whereas Sugar and Spice has more of a brick red tone. They are definitely in the same color family, but they aren't at all dupes.

What I really love about the blush is the overall quality, especially with the matte side. It's very finely milled, and although it is matte, it's not at all dull. The texture reminds me a little bit of the Chanel Joues Contraste blushes. The color is pigmented and the finish is really soft. Even though the shimmery side looks very frosty in the pan, it doesn't translate nearly as shimmery on the cheeks. I've also found that the color stays true all day without fading. I haven't really looked at any other shades in the Diorblush line, but I do think this is a very flattering shade for medium/warm skintones. It may appear a little ruddy for those with cooler skintones.

Chanel Surprenante (129) Rouge Allure Lipstick Review!

Coco Mademoiselle .  Chanel Surprenante Rouge Allure Lipstick is a vibrant, medium watermelon pink. It has a little bit of a frost and shimmer to it, but it's pretty subtle, and actually looks matte on my lips in low lighting. I'm not really a fan of frost, but it's subtle enough where it's not a deal breaker for me. It's very pretty and I think a color that is well suited for the Spring.

The coverage is mostly opaque with one coat and applies smoothly to the lips with a satiny feel. I originally thought that the formula would be drying, but it actually feels pretty good on my lips despite the fact that it's not a moisturizing formula. It makes my lips look soft and pillowy when I wear it alone, but I like jazzing it up with a layer of glossimer over top to really make the color glisten. Unfortunately, if you apply it over dry or chapped lips, the dryness will be accentuated. This lipstick lasts a bit longer on my lips compared to some of my other lipsticks - maybe around 4 hours or so.

The Round-Up

Pros:
  • Soft floral fragrance (which you might like or hate)
  • Doesn't have a gritty texture despite the shimmer
  • Feels somewhat soft and velvety on the lips
  • It's not drying - but it's also not moisturizing, which can be a con.
  • Makes my lips appear slightly fuller
  • Good lasting power (4+ hours)
  • Beautiful, glossy black and gold sleek packaging
Cons:
  • Because of the slightly frosty finish the color can look a bit dated, nevertheless it's a beautiful shade of pink and great for the Spring/Summer months. If you don't like the finish, you can always add gloss on top, which is usually how I wear it!
  • If your lips are dry/cracked, this lipstick can accentuate the dryness (not to the extreme) but still a little noticeable.
Price: $35.
